We are the U.S. 2nd Ranger Infantry Battalion St. Louis, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit WWII re-enactment unit that is dedicated to preserving the military history and veterans of the United States Armed Forces. We endeavor greater authenticity in the presentation of our activities and strive to foster greater interest in the history of WWII; in particular, Ranger history, by educating the general public through active public relations.
We portray the D Company of the U.S. 2nd Ranger Battalion because of the courageous sacrifices these men made during WWII and their link to the birth of modern U.S. Special Forces. We do not have any actual affiliation with the current U.S. Army Rangers. However, as a living history re-enacting unit, we hold ourselves to the highest personal standards of safety and authenticity in our portrayal of U.S. military personnel.
We preserve this history by travelling to public events, staging mock battles, including the River Battle and WWII Weekend, and respectfully portraying WWII soldiers during said battle reenactments, living history events, educational displays, and by collecting, preserving, and displaying memorabilia of the era including uniforms, equipment, and vehicles from the US, British, Soviet, Canadian, and German forces.
Our company provides for its 40+ members a means to preserve history in this way; thereby keeping alive the history of all nations who fought for freedom.
